A grocery store, known in the United States as a “corner store,” is recognized by most people as a small neighborhood shop that sells snacks, drinks, and other everyday essentials.
Although any ordinary person knows what a grocery store is, that doesn’t seem to be the case for Trump. Speaking at an event on Thursday, the president said he had never heard the term “grocery store,” while also claiming that inflation had not increased as a result of the war in Iran.
“What is a grocery store?” he asked the audience. “I’ve never heard that term. I know what a grocery store is, but I’ve never heard it described as a ‘grocery store.’ Who the hell wrote that?”
Internet users quickly slammed Trump not only for being so out of touch with the reality of most Americans by not knowing what a grocery store is, but also because it became clear that a member of his team had written his script.
